New product line features market-driven innovations that improve carbonation, ease of use and flavor

Ann Arbor, MI – December 3, 2014 – i-Drink Products, a newly formed marketing and distribution company based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is pleased to announce the global launch of its new iSODA brand of soda makers and accessories in the DIY soda category. iSODA brings patented new technologies, high-quality manufacturing and  fresh new flavors to this growing market segment. iSODA makers include three counter-top and one hand-held model. All makers have patented new features that improve carbonation, ease of use and flavor over existing brands. Makers have Quick-Connect™ bottles, push-button customized carbonation, unique Turbo-Bubbler™ design, multi-valve system, superior fit and finish, clean contemporary design and the latest color trends. A full line of accessories are being introduced during the initial launch, including three sizes of food-grade CO2 carbonators, BPA-free bottles and premium soda flavors made in Italy from real fruit and natural sweeteners. According to market research from NPD Group in the March 2014 issue of Beverage Industry, U.S. retail sales of home soda machines increased 30 percent compared with the previous year. As a result, dollar sales of mixes and syrups increased 83 percent compared with 2012. According to Debra Mednick, executive director and home industry analyst for NPD Group, “The home soda category continues to appeal to consumers seeking convenient ways to customize beverages that range from plain seltzer to flavored options on demand while also being friendly to their wallets and the environment.” “Home soda-makers as a category is still in its infancy with relatively low household penetration,” Mednick added. “The potential of these machines is contingent upon broadening the category’s appeal with a wider variety of uses and offerings, ease of obtaining the consumables, and price.” “U.S. sales of carbonated soft drinks continue to decline, while bottled water consumption is on the rise,” states Douglas Wang, CEO and President, i-Drink Products. “These consumer trends are in line with scientific research showing the importance of proper hydration in the human body, and the negative health effects from drinking sugar-sweetened beverages. We endorse these findings, and believe that sparkling water is the easy, economical and natural way to increase daily water intake, while delivering the flavor and variety that consumers demand.” Mr. Wang adds “Our goal is to strengthen the DIY soda category as a whole, by educating consumers on the health benefits and offering new choices in soda makers and accessories. The benefits of DIY soda are widely known throughout Europe and Asia. The U.S. has been slow to adopt this important health trend, which also offers economic and environmental benefits. We expect that new market entries like iSODA will help drive the category forward.” You are invited to sample iSODA products at upcoming trade shows and tasting events in North America and Europe, including Ambiente 2015 Feb 13-17 in Frankfurt, Germany, International Home and Housewares Show March 7-10 in Chicago, IL and AFPD 31st Annual Innovations Show in West Bloomfield, MI on April 16, 2015.   About i-Drink Products i-Drink Products Inc. is the sole distributor of iSODA-brand products in North America. iSODA is a registered trademark covering makers, carbonators and flavors.
